In today's modern age, the rural student should sustain his/her candidature in this huge competition with globalization. His level of confidence should be increased, his use of language should be sophisticated, his range of reading should be widened and along with communication skills he should know jargons and terminological conceptions. In this contemporary situation, the new avenues were being opened for the regional language. Literature oriented study of Marathi Language is and will be insufficient. If we invent new vocabulary that can be used in this technological world, then only we can resist the opinion of English, which is being said that the only potent option for lingua franca. Along with English in Maharashtra, Marathi language itself faces challenges from other indigenous languages. The Marathi Language is endangered to such an extent that if the situation remains same for one more decade, it will be the Language that is spoken only in family conversations. If we want to stop this happen, we must use Marathi in every field of modern life. Instead of earnest solicitation of Marathi as mother tongue we must confirm its significance by developing it as a language of modern time. Marathi language is capable and enriched Language, and its inclusion as an applied Marathi in this syllabus is undoubtedly significant. The conservation of the language is a responsibility of young generation and by using it extensively in their day-to-day life they can contribute to the socio-cultural movements of conservation of an endangered indigenous language.
