A departmental library has been developed with contribution of books by existing and retired faculty members, alumni and generous donor scientists. There are many books in this library which are used regularly by faculty members and students T. Y. B. Sc. and M. Sc. 

The department maintains its own library of Textbooks prescribed by the syllabi of the B.Sc. and M. Sc. Courses, Reference books, Periodicals, Proceedings of workshops, Seminars and Conferences and research papers. At present department has -121 – books and journals on geology. The faculty members enrich this library by keeping their personal books as and when required by fellow teachers and students. The periodicals include 

1. Journals of Geological Society of India published by the Geological Society of India, Bangalore. These journals are among the contributions made by Dr. M. K. Prabhu, the former Head of the Department. 
 

2. Journal of Applied Hydrogeology, published by the Association of Hydrogeologists of India and Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. These journals are among the contributions made by Dr. J. B. Pishte. 

3. Journal of Gondwana Society of India and 

4. Journal of the Volcanological Society of India. These journals are among the contributions made by Shri. J. V. Khanapurkar
